Every conversion is a miracle! Jaython, Casey, Emil and Willie are God’s miracles. Here’s why:
Last month was a special time for Drug Alternative Program. Our pastor, Dr. Carlton Byrd, conducted a Spring Revival at the Oakwood University Church. Clients Jaython Betterton and Casey Steich were baptized. It was indeed a “High Day in Zion.”
This is the first time either of them has been baptized. The pictures capture for you the happiness of this sacred occasion by Jaython and Casey. These two brothers have made a commitment to work for Jesus and to help Him deliver more men from the devastation of drug addiction.

Our client, Emil Castro, was in California when his brothers, Jaython and Casey, were baptized. The next Sabbath, he discovered that Pastor Byrd was baptizing a second group. Although he did not come prepared with baptismal clothes, he told Cliff that he wanted to be baptized with the group. We all rejoiced with him as he publicly took his stand for Christ through baptism. His picture captures the same happiness of his brothers.

There were over 50 people baptized and jubilation flowed throughout the congregation. After the Worship Service, we enjoyed a delicious Sabbath luncheon and fellowship with one another. Each person became a member of the “New Members Group” at the church, coordinated by Drs. Garland and Jan Dulan. This additional nurturing strengthens the new members, making them feel a part of their new church family.
While on earth, Jesus focused on helping those who were sinking deep in sin. Our goal is the same. Last month, while attending church on the Sabbath in Pikeville, Tennessee, we were approached by a broken-hearted mother whose son had been an alcoholic for over 30 years. With tears in her eyes, she reached out to us for help. We talked and prayed with her about her son, Willie.
There’s nothing impossible with God! And prayer changes everything! The next day Willie’s dad and best friend brought him to our home for an interview. He was inebriated and it is against our policy to interview anyone in that state of mind. However, we made an exception to the rule. After the interview, Willie decided to enter the program. He has been here over a month, and the change in him has been phenomenal. The blood of Jesus will never lose its power! He is not the same man that walked through our doors over a month ago. Please pray with us that Willie will continue to let God direct his life. Every conversion is a miracle! Willie is a miracle!

It is because of faithful family members like you that we have been able to witness heavenly miracles here at Drug Alternative Program for over 30 years. When you donate to DAP’s ministry, miracles do happen. When a mother’s prayers are answered – you become the conduit for family renewal. It is indeed your gift that makes it possible for us to open up a new world, free of drugs and alcohol, to someone who thought they would never break the clutches of drug or alcohol addiction.
Whether you send $100 or $1000 – we want you to know your gift matters. What’s more, your gift becomes a link in the miracle of conversion.
Thank you for your gift and for your love.
We love you,
