Our goal speaker tonight was Jeff Ponzini joined by his wife, Lynn. Jeff is a Concrete Mixer for Moon Concrete Company and Lynn is a Patient Care Coordinator for Bell Tone.
Cliff met Jeff at the Recovery Home on the new property. After sharing the plan for building storage units, Jeff is helping
Cliff find a Construction Company.
Jeff’s message was entitled, “Sobriety.” His definition of sobriety is having a disciplined control sound mind. The key text was 1 Peter 5:8 , “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.” He said we must put on the whole armor of God daily that we may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
Jeff’s father started him drinking moonshine liquor at the age of 5. He has had problems with alcohol throughout his life but today he is ‘clean and sober.’ After Lynn’s divorce and the death of Jeff’s wife, they married eight years ago. They both renewed their faith in God and they are on a mission for Him. Their motto is, “Not Today Satan.”
Jeff encouraged the men to make the choice of sobriety and serving God every day. Christ sent His own Son to die for our sins. He expressed a desire for all of us to be ready to see Jesus at His soon coming.
Tonight ‘our hearts burned within us’ as we absorbed Jeff’s message.
