Our guest speakers for Vesper’s were Greg and Jocelynn Edmonds. We met Greg at the Bentley Buick dealership and learned that he and his wife were formerly addicted to drugs. So we invited them to come share their testimony with us.
Greg grew up with both parents but did not have a healthy relationship with his father. Jocelynn grew up in a broken home that led her to drugs, crime and a promiscuous lifestyle.
Greg indulged in drugs and went to jail several times during his teen and young adult life. However, he managed to graduate from college and was hired by Merrill Lynch Financial Service and became a favorable partner.
After seven successful years, he reverted back to drugs, losing his marriage, two children, his home and all of his possessions. He eventually became homeless and lived in the streets for two years.
While in jail, for the first time, he decided to try God. He read the Bible and prayed during the whole month he was there and accepted Christ into his life. Later he got married again and stayed sober for four years. But guess what? He relapsed again and ended up living in a “dope house” for two years? A lady there became pregnant by him and his son was born. They tried to help each other get ‘clean and sober’ but to no avail.
In 2018, Greg was so desperate he started shoplifting to support his drug habit ending up in jail again. An inmate told him about “His Way” adult recovery home for men and asked him to meet him there upon his release.
Greg joined his friend at the recovery home. There the staff taught him about Jesus and his life was transformed. After one year, he graduated from the program and God blessed him tremendously. He paid off his legal fines, completed his probation, bought a car, and gained custody of his 7 year-old son.
In August 2020 he met Jocelynn and that’s a whole nother story. They were married in December that same year.
Greg has worked for Bentley Buick for the past four years. He and Jocelynn are building a recovery home for women in the Huntsville area. While living in a recovery home, God changed Jocelyn’s life. Her passion is to help deliver other women and introduce them to Jesus.
Greg and Jocelynn are ‘on fire’ for Jesus and their story of God’s mercy and forgiveness really touched our hearts. It shows how immeasurable His love is for us. Isn’t He wonderful👏🏼💃🏽🕺🙏🏼!
