Our guest speaker for Vesper’s was Ernest Castro, the father of Emil Castro.
He along with his wife, Mary, and daughter, Vanessa, were here for Emil’s graduation on Thursday at the Jackson Center here in Huntsville, AL. They came from California and Colorado to attend this momentous occasion.
Ernest’s key text was Psalm 63. He emphasized that we should be more grateful for the Blesser, Jesus Christ, than the blessing. David sought God, thirsted for Him. He saw God’s power and glory in the sanctuary. Because His lovingkindness was better than life, His lips always praised Him.
Having a personal relationship with Jesus far exceeds His blessings. Ernest said God’s love transformed his son. He’s not the same person that walked through DAP’s doors in California. The family was elated to celebrate Emil’s conversion and achievements. We all cheered and his mom shedded tears of joy!
Following Vesper’s, we were all served a Filipino dinner prepared by the Castro’s. The authentic food was so delicious and the fellowship was delightful. There’s nothing like a DAP family gathering. The memories of Emil’s graduation will last always!
