The former owner of the Recovery Home, Janie Barnett and her daughter, Gwen Rush, from Denver, are visiting family and friends here in Huntsville. Today we invited them to dinner at the Recovery Home. The guys were so pleased to meet them.
Our newest client, ‘Chef’ Merced Mendoza, prepared a scrumptious dinner – salmon, rice, string beans, asparagus and salad. Our daughter, Rhonda, made this DAP carrot cake and it was simply delicious 😋.
During dinner, Mrs. Barnett told us the history of the Recovery Home that was built in 1900. The guys shared their stories and they were amazed to witness their changed lives.
These men are learning to socialize and communicate with others to help build their self-confidence and faith in themselves.
