Dear Family Member:
In the words found in the book of Philemon, we find these encouraging thoughts: “Yes, my brother and sister, let me have some profit from you in the Lord. Cheer and refresh my heart in the Lord.”
Indeed, it is your continual support that has for over 30 years helped to buoy our spirits and keep our feet planted on a firm foundation year after year. In fact, right now, as we move ahead with faith in God’s ability to lead us forward to meet the challenges of a new home here in Alabama, we can feel the Lord’s abundant presence with us every day.
Just take a look at the pictures below as we remodel the Recovery Home near the campus at Oakwood University. It really isn’t enough to just say, “before and after.“ These two words do not reflect the hundreds of hours of labor which have gone into the task of preparing the buildings for the lives that are being changed in the new environment which houses young men from all across the country.
Over the years, you have been extremely generous in your giving. Sometimes you have given more then you could afford to give in order to help these men. This kind of love is what God likes to see.
Jesus is so gracious and kind. Even though He owned the whole world and had all riches at his disposal, yet for our sakes, became poor so that, through His poverty, we might become rich. Won’t you take advantage of this opportunity to share with these men what you have?
We are eager and willing to finish this project by June 1, 2020. We urge you to share your blessings with these men in need. You have proven to them over and over again how genuine your Christian love is, and they know it is true.
Got loves for people to give cheerfully and not grudgingly. He is able to give you back more than you need, materially and spiritually so that you will have enough of everything to abundantly support our work here at DAP. As the scripture says, “He who gives generously and helps those in need, his right-doing never ends.” God will multiply your benevolence and increase the harvest of your kindness. He will continue to bless you so you can continue to bless others.
As you think about the generosity of our Father today, we pray that the overwhelming manner in which God has given you, will be reflected in your gift to DAP. As you return to Jesus a portion of what He has given to you, that your heart will be blessed as well.
Whether your gift is large or small, please know that every gift counts. Right now, with the expansion of DAP’s services to meet the needs of the men here in Alabama and from other areas on the east coast and Midwest, we need gifts of extreme kindness because the needs are so very great.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the way you have helped us time and time again. We know that you are stretched to the limit with a generous spirit of kindness, joy and giving. But we also want you to know that your reward will be seen in heaven throughout eternity as person after person comes to you with overflowing gratitude for the help you sent that made it possible for them to be here at DAP.
God’s blessings upon you and your family. With love and gratitude.
Your family,
