Dear Family Member:
The finest words we know cannot begin to tell you the difference prayer has made in our lives and in the ministry of Drug Alternative Program. During these past 34 years, we have accomplished more through prayer than by any other method. We would like to give you one of our first answers to prayer.
In 1984, I (Freddie) prayed for a Christian husband. God answered my prayer in a way that I never thought possible. Through a poem I received from the Adventist Singles Club, “Most Wonderful Love,” Jesus instructed me to first fall in love with Him. Then He could choose a husband I never dreamed of. So, I took the challenge and made a commitment not to date a man for one year. As I fell in love with Jesus, I found I was totally satisfied.
During that year, while in prison. Cliff felt the wooing of the Holy Spirit and prayed to God for a new life without drugs. He yearned for his family and decided upon release, to reconnect with them and to return to church.
Fasten your seatbelt for the next scene: In February 1985, I met Cliff at church on Sabbath. He proposed to me Sunday, and three months later we were married. Talk about a miracle. That was a miracle! God brought us together in marriage and then two years later, God added to our lives the birth of DAP, which has delivered men addicted to drugs, from the ravages of drug addiction.
This has been the best 34 years of our lives despite the trials and tribulations we have experienced. Our good days outweigh our bad days and we thank God every day for trusting us to help Him prepare these men and their families for the kingdom. We believe every life is worth saving.
More Prayer, more power; little prayer, little power; no prayer, no power. When you can do nothing else, you can pray.
Prayer Changes Everything
Time and time again we have seen prayer turn around lives here at DAP. But that’s not all…
Prayers offered at just the right moment have been the catalyst we needed when the financial needs of the ministry were extremely critical. We often will drop to our knees and lay before God the crisis that we face.
And we can say that God always has supplied our need. This month, as we continue to raise funds for the new tractor, we require for our work therapy program, or funds that will help another individual take the first step here at DAP in living in a drug-free life, we know that you will be part of a “prayer miracle. “
So, whatever you give today, may we let you know that your support is always just what is needed in answer to our prayers.
We love and appreciate you,
