Dear Family Member:
As we approach the joyous and festive season of Christmas, DAP would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to you who has been an integral part of our journey. In this season of love, hope, and giving, we are reminded of the tremendous impact your generosity has had on the lives touched by the mission of DAP. We, along with the entire DAP family, are sincerely grateful for the enduring support you have provided throughout the year. Your commitment to our cause has not only brought positive change to individuals seeking alternatives but has also illuminated the path toward recovery and transformation. As a Christian organization, we embrace the spirit of Christmas as an opportunity to express gratitude, share joy, and celebrate the blessings that unite us. May this December be filled with the warmth of love and the joy of giving, reflecting the true essence of the Christmas season.
We have decided to close out the year by highlighting a testimony from one of our most honored graduates, Tracy Wise.
Tracy Wise’s narrative underscores the life-changing impact of DAP on his life. Following his successful completion of the program in 2001 and a period of initial success as DAP’s lawn supervisor, Tracy faced setbacks that led to a significant regression, resulting in the loss of his acquired stability. Returning to Mississippi, he grappled with drug addiction and a life-threatening situation involving a debt to a drug dealer. Tracy’s pivotal moment occurred when he received a compelling spiritual calling to return to DAP, an intervention that was facilitated by the abiding support of the Harris’s.
Gratefully returning to DAP, Tracy not only completed the program but also became an integral part of the organization. His dedication and progress within DAP were recognized, culminating in his promotion to the role of Program Director in 2014. This marked a turning point in Tracy’s life, which continued to evolve positively as he married his soulmate, Aisha, in 2015 and became the father of two daughters. Tracy also has two adult children, Tracy II, and Colandra, and five grandchildren. Tracy and Aisha acquired a new home, and Tracy acknowledges these blessings as manifestations of divine grace and the positive influence of DAP in his life.
Throughout his journey with DAP, Tracy consistently found solace and guidance within the program, describing it as an anchor during life’s tumultuous storms. DAP, for Tracy, transcends being merely a program; it serves as a guiding light that has helped shape him into a godly man, imparting values of self-respect and respect for others. Tracy’s testament to the enduring impact of DAP underscores the program’s role as a lifeline, a vessel that sailed him through the darkest chapters of his life (“wind beneath my wings”) and a force propelling him toward a life filled with purpose, faith, and family joy.
As we conclude this December newsletter, we are deeply moved by the story of renewal and hope that has unfolded within the DAP family, particularly that of Tracy Wise. Your steadfast support has played a pivotal role in making Tracy’s journey possible, demonstrating the tangible impact of your generosity. As the Christmas season approaches, we humbly appeal to your giving spirit. Your contributions not only provide essential resources but also sow the seeds of change, enabling individuals like Tracy Wise to rediscover purpose and embark on a journey towards a brighter future. Together, let us continue to be beacons of hope and catalysts for positive change. Your support is not just a donation; it is a lifeline, a gesture that echoes the true spirit of Christmas. Join us in making a difference in the lives of those seeking alternatives and restoration. May your giving be blessed with the joy that comes from knowing you have made a lasting impact.
We love and appreciate you,
