As Thanksgiving approaches, we are reminded of the profound impact gratitude has on transforming lives—both within the walls of DAP and throughout our extended family. At DAP, we witness the power of gratitude every day, from the men who commit to turning their lives around to the supporters who believe in our mission. This season, we celebrate not only the progress we’ve made but also the deep sense of appreciation that fuels our journey forward.
One such story comes from a 22-year-old young man, Willie Quesada, who attended DAP for several months. Today, at 42, he is thriving – he owns and operates a successful Recovery Home for Autistic Special Needs Adults in Orange County, CA. He is prosperous, single, and constantly reminds us that he is “indebted to DAP for changing his life.” This remarkable man expresses his gratitude through generous, ongoing donations that help sustain and grow the work we do. His success is a shining example of how the seeds planted through DAP can grow into incredible, life-altering achievements. Stories like his remind us that true prosperity begins with a heart of gratitude and the support of a caring community.
While we don’t generally seek volunteer work from outside the organization, DAP finds creative ways to give back. One of our most successful initiatives has been offering free power washing services to our neighbors. In return, many have expressed their appreciation through generous donations. This exchange of service for gratitude has built bridges of support within our community, further fueling the positive energy that surrounds DAP.
In previous newsletters, we shared our vision for expanding DAP’s reach with the purchase of ten acres of land. While we await updates from our developers, we are overwhelmed with gratitude for the progress we have made. This dream, though a slow and sometimes challenging process, is a testament to the power of faith and perseverance. Every day, we feel the potential of this land as we envision the goodness of God’s promises unfolding before us. We are eager to see this vision come to fruition and remain grateful for the community’s steadfast support as we work toward this exciting new chapter.
