Dear Family Member:
The time of the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony is fast approaching and we are so excited! We will sign the escrow papers for the land on September 30 and the celebration will be held on Sunday, October 10, at 12 noon at the Recovery Home, 5101 Meridian Street N, Huntsville, AL. Please join us!
There is so much excitement around this ceremony!! Cliff and the men are working hard re-landscaping the backyard, painting the deck and the stage. This will be a most memorable event!
Our first step of acquiring the 10 acres has been monumental. With your help, we were able to purchase this property. The next great challenge is to raise what is necessary to complete God’s work and our mission. Thank God we are not in this alone, that we have faithful family members and friends to help support us as we discover our highest potential, even in giving. These means are necessary to fund structures that will benefit clients, graduates and the community as a whole.
The main focus of this property is to attract souls to Christ “in such a time as this.” We have said this before and it’s worth repeating, “Every person we see has an inner longing in their heart to know Christ. And, every person is winnable.” We want to reach especially the outcasts and men addicted to drugs. Like Jabez, we are crying out to God, saying, the same powerful prayer that was granted to him in 1 Chronicles 4:10. It reads: “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” We believe that God will grant our request as He did Jabez. And, He will do it through this property. This, is only the beginning! Eyes have not seen; ears have not heard…. what our Magnificent Father has in store for those who love and care for His children. “Inasmuch as you have done it unto one of the least of these….
There are hundreds and thousands of men addicted to drugs waiting to experience God’s love ‘with skin on it.’ For over 20 years, Cliff has longed for DAP to open a ‘Drug Church,’ where these men can comfortably ‘come as they are’ and experience no judgment for who and what they are. Love conquers all, and this is DAP’s starting point. We love you back into the family of God ‘s healing mentally, physically and most of all, spiritually. Perhaps a Chapel can be structured as part of a Family Life Center to meet regular, multiple needs of the community.
Developing this land is going to be a monumental task, one of the largest of which we have been apart. We recognize God’s leading, as He teaches us step-by-step, how to trust Him regardless of how large or small the task. We also know that God has shared this burden with you, that we may partner together in completing this beautiful and life-giving work to hasten His coming. Thus far, DAP has expended the “Land Partners” funds and other resources in order to purchase the land. So, to those who can, please dig deep and give generously. We know God owns “the cattle on a thousand hills,” and no one can touch hearts and supply all our needs, the way that He can.
At this Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, we want you to experience what the Lord is doing for DAP and this community. We are hoping this event will be ‘a moment in time’ that you will never forget. Thank you for taking part in this life-changing journey with us. It really does take a village…
Let’s all make this our mission …to lift up Jesus and draw all people to Him. John 12:32
