Dear Family Member:
We are one year closer to Jesus’ return. We read recently, “We should get rid of everything that does not glorify God”. That got our attention! Many of us are hoarding so much “stuff” that could be given to those in need. Next month, let’s ‘spring clean’ our houses and give away items to help others and to promote God’s work.
Special Project Report:
Praise the Lord, Family Member! You have given a total of $47,000 for our six special projects. The bathrooms are finished; the new carpet is installed; the laundry equipment is installed. The picture shows the worker finishing the exterior painting of the homes. We have only two projects left: a new air conditioner; mattress sets and bed linens. Your gifts have made a big difference in helping us get these projects completed.
After 15 years of ‘wear and tear’, thanks to you, we are able to upgrade and improve the four properties. These men are proud to live in lovely comfortable homes, not ‘flop houses.’ Your acts of kindness and support have helped us uphold our mission: “To provide a safe, structured, supportive, Christian environment for adult men who desire a productive, drug-free lifestyle. Our goal is to help them experience God’s healing and allow Him to take an active part in their lives.”
We recently received a phone call from a client in Florida. He said, “I am ‘clean and sober’ today because of the love and care I received from you, the staff and clients at DAP. The lessons I learned there are far reaching, and I want you to know that I am back in a relationship with my children and seeking a career to help others like you helped me.” Friend, his words encouraged our heart!
Opportunity to Witness:
We ask God daily to give us an opportunity to witness for Him. Last month two clients, Duncan Nyangau and Jordan Peck, along with Cliff, were invited to speak to the students of a Colloquium class at LA Sierra University in Riverside, CA. Their testimonies captivated the group helping them to see in ‘living color’ the results of drug abuse and the redemptive hand of God in severing its bondage. If we helped one person, our labor was not in vain. Your prayers and support keep our doors open for valuable souls that God handpicks for us.
