Our guest speaker last night was Pastor Joe Grider, retired Ministerial Secretary of the South Central Conference. He shared His personal testimony with us.
Growing up in Lexington, KY with great parents, he never used substantial
drugs but was addicted to cigarettes for seven years. He married at the age of 19 and met Christ through his wife of 54 years. As a minister of the gospel , he shared stories of how God has blessed his marriage and ministry.
His key text was 1 John 1:9 , “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” He said to the men, “You are special. Confess and God does the rest. Don’t forget your past, and by all means, share your testimony.”
In closing, he told how God answers prayer. At his ‘gig’ where he works a few hours at a golf course, he lost the $300 company phone. Everyone helped him look for it to no avail. In his distress, he paused to pray. Two hours later the phone was found. We must ask, knock, seek and God will answer our prayers.
What an inspiring message from such
a loving and humble servant of God🙏🏼.
