Our ‘sons’ Emil, Robert, Steve and Brian had a 4-day weekend with Tuesday being a surprise for them, an R & R (Rest and Relax) Day. They slept in and had a late breakfast. Cliff gave them $50 each instructing them to go to the Mall and buy something ‘only’ for themselves with no change left over😃. While addicted to drugs, all their money went to the ‘dope man.’ Cliff wants them to feel worthy and to build confidence in themselves.
Wow! Did they have fun buying clothes, shoes, ear buds, suspenders, using the massage machines and of course, splurging on lunch at the food court.
Cliff asked them to write an essay about their day. The person with the best one will receive a $25 bonus. Tonight they read their essays and Cliff gave them all $25 because they were excellent. You should have seen the smiles 😃on their faces!
Robert said, “Our time together was enjoyable with not a dull moment to be remembered. We brothers all laughed and cracked jokes….At the end of the day, we were all thankful and grateful for the Harris’s (mom and dad) for this special time. Today we made and enjoyed new times that will never be lost or forgotten. Oh what a day!”
Everyone likes to be appreciated. These men know how much we love and appreciate them and they love us right back. May they continue to grow into God’s image and become servants helping others, especially men addicted to drugs.
