This evening It was raining over abundantly while driving to the Recovery Home for Vespers.
At the beginning of the meeting, the men were asked what they learned today. The answers went from learning how to install long light bulbs in the church to the importance of building healthy relationships with your brothers.
Next, we viewed one of our previous Drugs Close to Home TV programs featuring Dr. Charles E. Bradford. He shared that he became a minister because his father was a minister. As a “PK” (preacher’s kid) he wanted to be like his father. We learned that His mother was the first of 16 students that attended Oakwood College (University) in 1896. He also attended Oakwood.
Elder Bradford has a long history of success in his field. He was the first Black President elected by the North American Division of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. He is the author of several books, his latest one, Charles E. Bradford: Chosen Builder of God’s Church, was published last year.
Elder Bradford and his wife, Ethel, are our neighbors here in Madison,AL and we are so blessed to have two ‘pillars of the church’ living near us. They are supporters of DAP and Elder Bradford often shares his wisdom with the DAP family.
We teach the men the importance of prayer. Tonight we closed with each one of us praying. The family that prays together stays together.
