Our Guest Speaker tonight was Chanel Battles joined by her husband Andrea who gave his testimony to the guys last year. Chanel is an elementary school teacher here in the Huntsville area. She and Andrea are newlyweds, married on September 11, 2020. They both love the Lord and have a burden for winning souls like we do.
Chanel grew up in a home with both parents, three sisters and seven brothers. Her father was very strict and did not show her the love and affection that little girls depend on their fathers for. She longed for the intimate relationship that a little girl needs with her Dad, that only a father can give.
Her father treated her differently from her sisters. Being hurt over the way he treated her, she became angry with God.
At the age of 20, seeking for love in the wrong places, she married a man who was a womanizer and addicted to drugs. After 25 years, the marriage ended in a divorce
At the age of 40, she fell in love all over again with Jesus and became satisfied and content in her relationship with Him. She met Andrea on Facebook by listening to his sermons. She asked God, “Is this a trick”? He let her know that he was ‘the one’ He had chosen for her. God is with them and they are happy in Jesus!
Chanel’s closing remarks to the men were how to handle their daughters. She emphasized that girls need a father’s encouragement, guidance, discipline, power and love. These traits are important and will help shape their future.
The men were inspired by Chanel’s message and they appreciated her enriching their home with her presence.
