Our guest speaker tonight was our son, London Lee, joined by our daughter, Nikisha, and grandchildren, Selah and Anthony. They are visiting us from Arkansas.
London’s topic was “The Whole Armor of God.” We Learned that as Christian’s we are not fighting for the victory over the flesh, the world, or the devil. But we fight from a place of victory in Jesus who has overcome all three for us.
The Armor of God is the Righteousness of Christ. When we walk in the flesh we have no power. But when we allow Christ to live in us by faith, we are guaranteed victory.
London’s closing thought connected the armor of God with the righteousness of Christ. This Bible verse got our attention:
But make sure that you don’t get so absorbed and exhausted in taking care of all your day-by-day obligations that you lose track of the time and doze off, oblivious to God. The night is about over, dawn is about to break. Be up and awake to what God is doing! God is putting the finishing touches on the salvation work he began when we first believed. We can’t afford to waste a minute, must not squander these precious daylight hours in frivolity and indulgence, in sleeping around and dissipation, in bickering and grabbing everything in sight. Get out of bed and get dressed! Don’t loiter and linger, waiting until the very last minute. Dress yourselves in Christ, and be up and about! Romans 13:14 (Message)
We were all inspired by the message.
