Our guest speaker tonight was Leslie Patrow from the Oasis Christian Center, a church near the Recovery Home. I met her through my neighbor in Madison where we live. After finding out about the program, she asked if her church could donate food to us. They deliver healthy plant-based food to us every two weeks. What a blessing!
Leslie shared her testimony with us. She was converted at a young age and was called to serve others in many capacities. She said, “You get a good feeling from helping others.” She encouraged the men to do likewise when they complete the program. Her favorite texts are:
I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me? Jeremiah 32:27 I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me. Phil. 4:13
Leslie currently works for General Dynamics. However, six years ago, she retired from Star HB farms -where they house 30 horses, and offer miles of trails and some of the best scenic outlooks in Huntsville. She is going to schedule an R & R day for the men to go horseback riding. They are excited!
Leslie also surprised us with her homemade banana nut bread. It was simply delicious!
God puts people in our lives, like Leslie, to show us His love ‘with skin on it.’ Isn’t He wonderful 👏🏼❣️
