Our guest speaker was Joshua Gaston, an Oakwood University theology student. His Message was about the anointing of the Holy Spirit.
Joshua gave his personal testimony of Satan’s temptation of adultery while working out of town last week, his first time, as a newly wed, being away from his wife. He emphasized that we should not hide our weaknesses nor be afraid to be open about them. The Bible says, “Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed… James 5:16
After confession and experiencing the anointing of the Holy Spirit, he overcame his temptation through God’s love and grace.
He was impressed to come prepared with sacred oil to anoint the men to help them live a life of holiness and consecration. They all raised their hands and Cliff and I were anointed too.
We appreciated Joshua following the Holy Spirit and giving us all the opportunity to draw closer to Jesus. We all claim the promise, “…if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17
