We are excited to share a significant update regarding our ongoing efforts to facilitate the storage units and get this ball rolling. But first, as we approach the month of November, we want to take a moment to reflect on the theme of Thanksgiving and the time of harvest. This season reminds us of the bountiful blessings we receive on a continuous basis, and the importance of giving thanks to God, and those whom He uses to change our lives.
For over 35 years, we have tirelessly led this program, empowering men to turn their breakdowns into breakthroughs through the power of faith and recovery. Their dedication and your support have been instrumental in this journey, and we remain profoundly grateful.
Project Update: Expansion Plans
As previously mentioned, we are embarking on a process for getting the storage units started, and we want you to be part of this journey. Here are the key steps and estimated timelines from P&C Construction Company:
1. Architectural Drawings Cost: We are currently awaiting cost estimates from architectural firms for the creation of the storage building drawings. Once we receive these estimates and pending your approval, we will select the appropriate firm to begin working on the drawings.
This phase is expected to take 4 to 6 months.
2. Plans Review with the City of Huntsville: After the architectural drawings are complete, they will be submitted to the City of Huntsville for review and approval. This phase could take anywhere from 1 to 3 months.
3. Project Cost Estimation: Once we obtain approval from the City of Huntsville, we will proceed to bid and estimate the overall project cost based on the architectural drawings. This process is anticipated to take approximately 3 to 4 months.
4. Permitting Process: Following your approval of the estimated project cost, we will initiate the permitting process, which will involve securing all necessary permits for the project.
5. Construction Commencement: Upon receipt of the required permits, we will be ready to commence construction. If all goes according to plan, we anticipate beginning construction sometime in the summer to fall of next year.
These timelines submitted by our rep, Justin Rogers, are approximate and may be subject to change based on various factors. We will keep you updated as we progress through each stage of the project.
Your continued prayers and support are invaluable as we take these steps toward expanding our capacity to help more men on their journey to recovery and redemption. As Thanksgiving approaches, let us remember the transformative power of faith and the harvest of hope that it brings.
We thank you from the depths of our hearts for being a part of the DAP family and for sowing the seeds of recovery, transformation, and faith in the lives of those we serve. May God bless you abundantly during this season of Thanksgiving.
With heartfelt gratitude,
