Dear Land Partner:
We hope that you are basking in the bright blessings of this holiday season! In our exuberance for celebrating the 10 acres of land and our new graduates, we failed to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving in our November Newsletter. Thanksgiving is a special time of year where we remember all of that glorious gifts God gives to each of us. Wow, what an opportunity to reflect even more for the gratitude in our heart for what our Heavenly Father continues to bestow! We are especially grateful for you and the commitment we share in working together to share our love and kindness to each other as we draw these devoted men, who were addicted to drugs, and fighting to have a better life. That’s our life’s work of which we have fallen in love with and see ourselves doing this work until we die. These men are our sons. Their families need them. They need them healed and whole again. We are committed and determined to see them experience a new life in Christ. This is what gives us life. Won’t you go with us into this new Wonderland? You will be thankful that you did!
We love Christmas! It has always been proven to be the most exciting time of the year. There is no better time to recognize the gifts and continued blessings of which God seems to surround us with continually. We love that God has chosen us, at this time, to head out another venture for the benefit of all men. We count it such a privilege that He would use us and enjoined us with you, our DAP family. We would not be where we are today were it not for the love, kindness and generosity of such special family members. You listened and acted in faith, just as we did, in unison. Wow, look at what faith and action can do, together. Let’s continue to encourage and serve each other during these unprecedented times. We have a bit of a road ahead of us, but we’ve been here before. It’s just a matter of change in faces and circumstances, but the outcome is always the same. Praise God!
Last Month after the cotton was harvested and the land cleared, we were able to officially possess the 10 acres. This miracle was made possible, once again, by your heartfelt benevolence, as well as through the sale of the Recovery Homes in California. We love bringing good reports. Our next step is a generous one, to acquire the first $1 Million needed just to begin the development of the land. But ‘Is there anything too hard for God?’ (Jeremiah 32:27) Absolutely not! This is His mission and through Land Partners like you and other resources, He will supply the needs to help win back souls to Jesus. As in the past, we are moving forward in faith with our plans. God has never failed us and He will never put us to shame.
We will receive a rendering, the detailed architectural drawing of an additional Recovery Home, Transition Home and Community Center, the first three properties scheduled to be built on the land. The Recovery Home is needed to house more clients. The Transition Home will provide a place for graduates to, as the name implies, transition their lives to adapt to a new environment. One where they don’t feel like a sore thumb and have to scratch and scrape, just to get by. That is not a good start for success. It’s important that the clients have something productive and constructive to which they can return. The success rate for including these elements in a program is much higher. We want each client to sustain their sobriety, having stronger tools of which to work. The client can choose to attend school or work and learn to make better financial choices to acquire their own place. In California, after opening the Transition Home, our success rate increased by 30%.
Cliff has always wanted a “drug church.” The Community Center will include a large chapel for people addicted to drugs to feel more comfortable to ‘come as they are’ and experience God’s love ‘with skin on it.’ This is an avenue where we have witnessed, changed lives through God’s healing. The Center will provide other services and activities for the community, as well.
Last month at the Sunday event, we asked the guests to pray and ask God what they should give as an offering. We are so happy to report that we recently received a check in the mail for $10,000 from a very generous Land Partner. In answer to her prayer, the Lord impressed her to give a thank offering to DAP. As a hospital administrator working daily among people, God has protected her from the Covid-19 virus and this was her tangible way of showing God her gratitude. Wow! What a good and faithful servant! This really touched our hearts. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! What a blessing! Would you pray that same prayer, Land Partner? The more you give, the more He gives to you. And remember, all donations are tax-deductible for your year-end gift.
Christmas is a joyous time of the year to spend with family and friends. It brings to mind the sacrifice that Christ made for us on the Cross. He left all heaven to come to this earth and lived a perfect life as an example for us all. It won’t be long now before He returns. Won’t you show your love to Him this season by helping precious souls who have a longing in their hearts to know Jesus? Wishing you and your family a wonderful Christmas season, and may you.be blessed with good health, prosperity and happiness in the new coming year.
