Dear Family Member:
Over 30 years ago, God gave us a burden — to help men who were struggling with addiction beat whatever problem they were fighting. We knew the statistics were against us. Men who face drug addiction are some of the most difficult to cure. But we also knew that our God is able. In fact, Cliff is a living, daily witness to the power of God in a person’s life.
And so, with God as our leader, a new ministry was born and over the years we have witnessed, as God has worked in the lives of men, to help them reach God’s plan for their lives.
Most of this work has taken place at our headquarters office in Grand Terrace, CA. In fact, a number of you have come to visit us at one of our “residential houses.” Our family home settings are a wonderful place for the clients to interact with each other in an environment that gives them that “homey” feeling.
We really thought that our headquarters office would never change its location. In fact, we believed that until our Lord comes again, and makes everything new, DAP would be a permanent fixture in Grand Terrace.
But as time goes by, we have faced issues that we never imagined. For example, the costs to carry on our work in the state of California has become more expensive. We are charged a cost per client fee by the state and that charge continues to rise each year. The cost of running our landscaping business continues to go up as well. Insurance costs are more in California and so are the costs to operate each of our homes.
As we planned for the program in the new decade, we laid all the costs before God and thanks to His guiding hand, we were led to a new conclusion. It would not only benefit the ministry bottom line, but it would help all our clients as well if we moved the ministry to Huntsville, AL where we already have a home in the area.
This solution was heaven led. And so, we began a transfer of our headquarters office from California to Alabama. Our office in Huntsville, AL will help us keep our expenses down, especially for clients coming from around the country.
We’d like to share the comments of the mother of one of our “clients” whose life you helped change for eternity. His name is Allen Davis. It will be individuals like Allen who will benefit from our Alabama program.
“My son Allen is a client at DAP. He has been baptized, born again. He says DAP has given him a new life in Christ. He used to call himself an atheist because he was so confused about religion. Thank God this program is faith-based with brothers and sisters united together to save God’s children.
Since my conversion on October 1, 2015, I have prayed for my children. A year ago, writing in my journal, I asked God to guide my son to a place where he could get the help and answers he needed. Shortly after that, Allen was scheduled to go to a Rehab Center but he never made it. The lawyer chose another Rehab Center but Allen would not go.
Through a friend, I was introduced to Linda Shattuck, wife of DAP Graduate Lonny Shattuck, who told me about the program. She said their faith-based program’s success rate was 65%.
In Tennessee, Lonny visited my son in jail. Upon release, he entered the program in Alabama on September 27, 2019. I cannot tell you how blessed I am! If you knew my son, then you would know the mountains that he has been facing, and it would take a miracle and prayers to change him.
My God has answered my prayers! I am so grateful for this program and the godly people running it. They not only talk and teach the Bible truth, they live it. It shows in their everyday lives and in their walk with Christ. And that’s just what these gentlemen need – the truth and seeing it carried out.
I am helping with the cost of the program. I pray if God leads one of His children there, they will never be let down again. I ask you to help DAP financially right now so that the program’s needs will be met. May GOD’S will be done. Thank you for your support. GOD Bless you, Jeanette Davis.”
Family member, as you have helped us through the years, we pray you will help today. Our responsibility is to do the work daily that makes it possible for as many individuals as we can get the help, they need to become the men God wants them to be. This includes making is possible to receive the treatment they seek at the most cost-effective price possible. The move to Alabama will make this a reality.
Your gifts now are exactly what we need here at DAP to move ahead where God is leading.
Will you continue your assistance today? We are counting on you as we have for over 30 years.
Your family,
Clifford and Freddie
P.S. We thought you would like to see a picture of Allen’s Mother and his recent baptism.
