Dear Family Member:
Last year, 2020, was a most astounding one for the DAP family. As you know, our whole world changed ‘overnight” with the Covid-19 pandemic. However, despite the impact, we are still standing because God is faithful to His children!
Good riddance 2020! Welcome 2021! We look forward to a wonderful and prosperous New Year. That’s because DAP is in the process of building the work therapy program by looking to add more commercial accounts and also add new clients to reach the full capacity of eight men.
What’s more, the Recovery Home sits in the middle of 29 acres here on Meridian Street. We had no thoughts of acquiring this land that surrounds the home. But a few months ago, the daughter of the owner who lives in Denver, CO, stopped by to admire the work we have done to the house she grew up in. She gave us the phone number of her mother and owner, Mrs. Janie Barnett, whom we have talked to over the phone. We sent her pictures of the home and Cliff’s book. She expressed her delight at learning about DAP and seeing the improvements of her home that has been in her family since 1907. With the unexpected visit of the daughter, we were impressed that God has a bigger plan for DAP. He said the land surrounding the home will be used to grow the future of the program.
You can imagine how we feel! A little scared and shaking in our boots! However, we know from past experiences at DAP and our faith in God, that nothing is impossible with Him. We are praying, fasting and laying this land before Him asking for His guidance to show us the way forward. We invite you to join us in prayer and in raising the money necessary to purchase the land. We will keep you posted as God unfolds His plans to us about His price, design and outline for this land.
The bathroom shower and urinal installment are complete. We are waiting for the delivery of the shower door. The men are so thankful for the additional bath area to accommodate seven of them. Here’s a BIG hug (squeeze, squeeze J) for making this all possible.
We want to thank you for all your faithful and generous donations to “My Brother’s Keeper Scholarship Fund.” This fund is specifically designated to assist clients who are unable to pay for their tuition. Last month, family members like you sent a total of $19,000 to help raise the money needed.
