Dear Family Member:
We are so grateful for your prayers and the financial support you are sending so DAP can expand. It is a lot of work. A huge challenge, but one we have undertaken with God leading us every step of the way. This is why our team is zipping around like hummingbirds.
Cliff and the clients, Jaython Betterton and Casey Steich, have started the landscape work at Oakwood University Church. They are planning to build a rock garden at the entrance of the church and improve the overall design of the lawn. The church members are excited with the new look and they are raising funds to finance the beautification of the church property. This project will be excellent advertising for DAP to increase the work load. We also have referrals for work at Oakwood University and other community properties.
Our first Alabama Recovery Home opened last month. Furniture, household items and monetary funds have been donated by church members, our neighborhood family, and members of the Madison Women’s Club of which Freddie is a member. We are so blessed to be showered with such nice gifts to furnish this lovely home.
Jaython and Casey have spent hours cleaning up the lawn that was full of leaves and debris. It was so cold outside working that we bought them coats to wear for the winter. They are also helping us decorate the Recovery Home inside which makes them feel right at home.
The home will accommodate six clients and a house manager. It has a living room, dining room, four bedrooms, 2 ½ baths, a family and recreation room. We will be hiring staff to fill the positions for the program. Please pray that God will send the right persons for each job.
We are counting on you as we have in the past. As some of you have already told us, “We will be faithful for God has impressed us to help with DAP’s expansion!”
If you have any question about what we need, you may call DAP at 909-783-1094. And we thank you in advance for your gift. May God’s blessings fall upon you and upon the work of DAP.
Your family,
P.S. A special note about DAP in California
Our program, which has operated in Grand Terrace for over 30 years, is running smoothly with Robert and Abby Hassler – Caretakers. In addition, Tracy Wise, our Landscaping Manager and Melodi Hamilton, Office Manager, are helping. In their capable hands the ministry in California continues to thrive.
