We spent Sabbath with our ‘son and daughter’, Lonny and Linda Shattuck, in Dunlap, TN. Lonny’s boss, Jeff Blumenberg and his wife Sharon, set today’s date for us to attend church, have lunch with them at their home in the mountains and go hiking.
Jeff is the Associate Trust Director of “It is Written.” He also helps people in his community build homes, obtain subcontractors and offer other services as needed. Sharon is retired from her job as an Architect and Event Coordinator.
What warm hospitality we received from this family including their daughter, Yanni, and grandson, Jude. The food was delicious and the fellowship was second to none.
After lunch Jeff and Lonny took the guys hiking. One of the highlights of their trip was Jeff’s saw mill and seeing the kind of work he and Lonny does at their property.
Next we all gathered in the family room and listened to Brian, Steve, Robert, Emil and Anthony share their testimonies. They brought tears to our eyes as we witnessed the power of Jesus Christ in their lives.
Family, we are so blessed by God for putting people like the Blumenberg’s in our lives for these men to see His love in action. We pray that acts of kindness and rich experiences like these be recaptured and paid forward as they leave the doors of DAP.
