Birthday’s are important to our DAP family. Today we celebrated Emil Castro‘s 39th birthday. Our daughter, Rhonda Harris, baked his favorite, a decorative and delicious yellow cake. He received birthday cards and gifts.
After the Sabbath Worship Service, we were ready for the potluck dinner. Two of the clients, Oscar Kahn and Robert Jefferson, are experienced chef’s and they cook very well. Anthony Frazier has been DAP’s ‘master chef’ for over 20 years. As a 2001 DAP graduate, he used his chef skills to help pay his expenses while a student at Loma Linda University where he received a BS degree in Nursing. We are so proud of him as a stellar role model and counselor for his brothers.
Through birthday celebrations and other social activities, we strive to teach these men the importance of spending time with family. We hope they will continue to follow our example once they return to the general population.
