Jesus gives us special blessings on the Sabbath!
Client Emil Castro’s sister, Vanessa, came from Denver to visit him. After Worship Service, we enjoyed a delightful dinner at the Recovery Home prepared by the clients. What a lovely time we had together!
At Sabbath School, Ms. Ruth Swan, Oakwood University Librarian. gave a report of her trip to Nairobi, Kenya showing a beautiful shawl the ladies there gave to her. Afterwards, I asked to see it and she said, “ I want you to have it.” I did not know her personally and was so surprised and grateful to receive the handmade gift.
Today was Senior Adult Ministries Day at Oakwood University Church, honoring nonagenarians (90-99) and centenarians (100+). To our surprise, Dr. Jessie Bradley called our names and asked us to come to the podium. She presented us this beautiful plaque in recognition of our service rendered to the Huntsville community.
Acts of kindness like these draw us closer to God and strengthen us for the work He has called us to do.
