Before leaving the prison on May 3, 1998, Rick asked the Lord to find him a Seventh-day Adventist inpatient recovery program with the same guidelines as he had in prison. His prayer was answered on the day of his release. He was brought to DAP by a prison administrator with only the clothes on his back and a little money in his pocket. Rick did very well in the program. He developed a personal relationship with Jesus and was baptized that November at Campus Hill Seventh-day Adventist Church in Loma Linda, CA. Rick said, “Christianity and salvation are not based on what you do, but on whom you know. I came to DAP with one goal, “to get to know Jesus.” Spirituality meant nothing to me before, but now that I have Jesus in my heart, I can see blessings coming my way every day. I have joy, happiness and peace of mind. And most of all, I see hope and a future developing through, my Forever Friend.” I have remained ‘clean and sober’ for 19 years. I have been employed as at Riverside Water Company in Grand Terrace, CA for over 15 years. I am the owner of a new Infinity car and a new home. The Lord has rewarded me above my highest expectations and I give all the glory to God for leading me to Drug Alternative Program.”
