Our Pastors, Carlton Byrd and Jason North welcomed Cliff and the guys to the World Harvest Outreach Seventh-day Adventist Church in Houston. The team unloaded the water at the church and helped distribute it to the hundreds of people waiting to be served. What a sight to see! The receivers were so grateful for fresh clean water.
This act of kindness was rewarding to the guys. However, they were tired from the 12-hour drive to Houston. Pastor Byrd took good care of them. He provided dinner for them at Luby’s Restaurant and a night at the Marriott Hotel.
After a good night’s rest and breakfast, they hit the road early Wednesday morning and arrived here at 9:30 pm.
These are their comments:
Robert Reid said, “It was exciting to travel to Texas for the very first time. I got the opportunity to help people in need.“
This was also Brian Edward’s first time to Texas. He said, “It felt good to help people in need after taking so much from others in the past.“
Jacob Merchant said, “ It brought joy to my heart to see the people’s reaction to receiving the water.”
Allen Davis said, “It was very fulfilling to be able to help people in need and to give back. I’m so thankful for the things that have been done for me. It’s nice to be able to serve others.”
Julian Nash said, “I think it was a wonderful experience to give back and serve others. I felt like I was a part of something big by helping people that are in great need.”
Cliff said, “I asked Pastor Byrd if we could help with this project believing that this experience would be beneficial for the men.”
We all thank God for this opportunity to witness for Him. This trip has inspired the guys to be more aware of the needs of people especially those who are unable to return the favor.
