 This week the Sabbath School Lesson title was “The Power of Personal Testimony.” The men wrote out their testimonies to be read at vespers. They were all powerful and inspiring! We have encouraged them, in addition to writing out their stories, to use their time here at DAP to practice standing before their brothers

The men built a bonfire 🔥 in the backyard of the Recovery Home. We roasted hot dogs and enjoyed a good meal including sweet watermelon 🍉. At 9:00 pm, we drove to the Mid-City mall to watch the fireworks 💥. These guys are learning the importance of family time especially on holidays.

Today we celebrated our sister, Melba Pride’s, birthday🍰 at her home in Mississippi. Cliff, her son, Ron and I surprised her. Her daughter Rosalyn and family came from Chicago to spend the weekend. Our guest speaker tonight was Rocky McDonald, my Oakwood College (University) classmate. In 1962, we were freshmen together and have great memories of our college days. I asked Rocky to give his testimony to the men. After serving in the military, he returned to Pittsburgh, PA, his hometown. He grew up in a Seventh-day Adventist

Some of the men in DAP are Father’s. Therefore, Cliff and I decided to bring the men to our home and prepare a Father’s Day breakfast for them. We cooked the food, set the table, served the meal and cleaned the kitchen. They enjoyed the home cooked food and were delighted to have us serve

 Cliff presented to me, “One Red Rose” 35 years ago when we first met. As it’s sweet fragrance overwhelmed me, the Holy Spirit impressed me with these words, “He’s the one”, not knowing that He had already impressed Cliff with the same words a few days before. When we were married, ‘one red rose’
