Christmas Eve began with refreshments including my star Christmas tea that I make each year. We opened gifts and the clients called their loved ones that were elated to hear from them.
On Christmas Day, Lonny and Linda Shattuck along with Lonny’s Dad, drove up from Tennessee. Anthony and Phyllis Frazier drove up from Kentucky. We are so thankful that these graduates live close enough to visit us and encourage their brothers.
Lonny and Linda gave an inspiring devotion and then we opened gifts from them. Linda gave the two of us fruits and vegetables from her garden that she canned. We also surprised them with gifts. The men were joyful and thankful for all the nice gifts they received from donors and their DAP family.
The potluck dinner prepared by the graduates, clients and yours truly was delicious and we all ‘dined sufficiently.’
Our hope is for these men, our ‘sons’, to continue celebrating holidays in this manner when they leave these doors and enter society. We ask for your prayers and support for them.
