Our guess speaker for Vespers was Aisha McLeary, a member of our former Oakwood University Overcomer’s Suppose Group, and joined by her boyfriend, Joel.. She will be graduating from Oakwood in May with a major in Bio Chemistry. We are so proud of her!
Aisha told the story of The Persistent Widow (Luke 18:1-8). Christ here draws a sharp contrast between the unjust judge and God. The judge yielded to the widow’s request merely through selfishness, that he might be relieved of her demand. He felt for her no pity or compassion; her misery was nothing to him.
How different is the attitude of God toward those who seek Him. The appeals of the needy and distressed are considered by Him with boundless compassion.
This story assured the clients that God loves them with a never-ending love as the dearest objects on earth to Him.
Aisha also shared an incident of how she was strongly tempted by her peer to use marijuana. She did not yield because of the love and teachings she received from “Mr. & Mrs. Harris”. She said, “I just could not hurt them.”
What a testimony of God’s love “with skin in it.” Family, if we can help just ‘one’ somebody, our living will not be in vain🙏🏼.
