Dear Family Member:
Over 30 years ago, God laid on our hearts the burning desire to assist young men who found themselves in the clutches of addiction.
When we first shared our plans to begin a ministry with family and close friends, their immediate question was this: “Why in the world would you choose young men? Haven’t you read all the research on this group? They are the toughest group to change!”
While this was true – – we also knew that God doesn’t look at any of us and say “They’re too difficult for My power to deliver.”
In fact, God sees us through His eyes of hope and His heart of love. He sees the perfect possibilities in each of His children.
And so in 1995, the first clients came to DAP and over the years, hundreds of clients have been welcomed through our doors. We are grateful to God for the heavenly blessings He has showered upon our work headquartered in California.
After 31 years working 365 days a year bringing men to Jesus – – their Hope and Healer, you may think we (Cliff & Freddie) would be looking to slow down a little. Dare we say retire! But just when it looked like we were getting ready for a new chapter in our own lives, God surprised us.
Little did we know God was way ahead of us. He had mapped out our next step long before we even imagined that there was a “next step.”
While our headquarters in California is humming along, God opened a door for us in Huntsville, Alabama where we have chosen to live.
Because of our close proximity to Oakwood University, we were invited to start a substance abuse support group among students who needed a “Mom and Dad” to help them face the challenges that they frequently face – – even on a Christian college campus.
However, all of a sudden, we were facing offers we didn’t expect. Several individuals came to us asking if we would be willing to open a “branch” of DAP right here in Alabama. Then we received another call about a piece of property with a house that could potentially be the ministry home here.
But here’s the most miraculous part of this experience. For when God wants you to move forward for Him, He often surprises you, just when you think you must be reading things wrong.
There are two key ways, through the years, that DAP’s ministry has been funded. First of all, God has sent people like you who have faithfully sent financial support month-by-month. The second way is through DAP’s Work Therapy Program (landscaping service).
Just as we began forming the plan for DAP Number 2, we were contacted by an administrator asking if our team would submit a proposal to provide landscaping service for Oakwood University. Just another one of those “God-things” as we like to call it here at DAP.
So today we are inviting you, our faithful family member, to help us raise $25,000 so we can purchase the equipment necessary to begin our “next life” here in Alabama. Below is the list of equipment needed.
We will keep you informed about God’s leading in this new chapter of DAP’s ministry. And we thank you in advance for your prayers and gifts.
We love you,
