Today was the 27th birthday of Trebien Battle. He was delighted because this was his first birthday celebration in 10 years. Trebien left the program last year and was so thankful that we accepted him back. His brothers are helping him to rebuild his self-confidence. Sabbath is a holy and special day for the DAP family. A time to rest and enjoy intimacy with God. After virtual Oakwood University worship service and eating lunch, we spent time sharing our new year’s resolutions with one another. We brought in the New Year by attending our church’s, Oakwood University, Drive-in Worship Celebration on the parking lot of the church. Our guest speakers tonight were Patrick Minor, Jr. (PJ), 19 years-old, and his best friend, Christian Chavula, 21 years-old, whose visiting him from North Carolina where he is attending college. These two friends met in 2014 in Zambia, Christian’s home. During their time there, PJ’s parents mentored Christian and he became part of their family.
